Episode 10: My Dinosaur Hypothesis Based On The Bible

Hey guys! Today we'll be talking about the Tolu619-Rex and a lot of sauruses. I don't believe in the evolution theory. I believe dinosaurs existed. How do I merge the two? The Bible of course! I'm hoping this will be an interesting article to all my readers, atheist, christian, or anything in between. Besides, when I asked on a VGchartz.com forum for suggestions on improving my blog, someone said "Not a big fan of the font. It's a little tough on my old man eyes. You gotta spice up your writing style, too. Add some raz-a-mataz! Some zing! Some skatch-a-mazoo!! I'm....having a stroke" so I'm trying to post more controversial and interesting stuff.
Summary: I believe there was a world on earth before the time of Adam and Eve. Dinosaurs lived then. When Lucifer fell, the earth was destroyed but not totally obliterated. After sometime, we have no idea how long, God recreated, or fixed, earth and created the current set of creatures, including man. From the time of Adam and Eve till now is just over 6 millennia but the earth is actually older than 6,000 years. Now that I have your attention, I give my arguments for this hypothesis from both the Bible and Science.

Unless otherwise stated, all Bible quotations are from the King James Version. Genesis 1:1 - "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". The next verse from Young's Literal Translation(which translates the original Hebrew text without paraphrasing it to make it more readable) reads "the earth hath existed waste and void, and darkness [is] on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God fluttering on the face of the waters". In modern English, that would be "And the earth became empty and desolate.....". How could the Spirit of God flutter over the surface of the waters if nothing existed prior to the creation(apparently, recreation) described in the rest of the chapter?
Jump to verse 28 and we get "....God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth...". Replenish means to refill, restock or resupply. God wouldn't have asked man to replenish the earth if there wasn't something there before. The Hebrew word BARA was used in verse 1, meaning "to create from nothing" while the Hebrew word in verse 2, ASAH, means "to create out of existent materials".

Jeremiah 4:23-27 - Jeremiah describes this earth of Gen 1:2, the without form and void one. What he describes didn't happen between Adam and now, so it must have happened either before Adam will happen after our current time but the Bible clearly tells us in Revelations the things that will happen, and a void earth isn't one of them.
"23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end."

2 Peter 3:5-7 - Peter also describes it.
"5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."

Lucemon. One of the most powerful Digimon ever. Digimon is still one of my favorite animes though I started watching it at the age of 11!

Episode 9: Video Game Review -> DBZ: Supersonic Warriors 2

There are three things I said I would be writing about on this blog but I haven't written any articles on any of them yet. That's video game reviews, anime reviews and basketball. Also, I've only written one article about my christian faith. That was in Episode 6: Boil Hotter, Get Sweeter. I might not be able to write any articles this week but I'll try to make up for it by posting three articles next week, one for each topic. I will also post more current game reviews starting next month when I get my 3DS so please bear with me. So here's my review of DragonBallZ: Supersonic Warriors 2 on the Nintendo DS.

DBZ: Supersonic Warriors on the Gameboy Advance was, I mean is, the fastest portable fighter I have ever played. Supersonic Warriors 2 is better than the original in almost all aspects. If the main thing you liked about the first game was the sheer speed, you'll be dissapointed here because the speed has been reduced. The only other part where it falls below the original is the dialogue. DBZ has 1 of the most simplistic story lines in any anime but the dialogue here makes it look like this game was made for four year olds. It presents the character's motives for fighting in a ridiculously simple form, even more simple than it already is. Of course the graphics have been improved from the GBA, but the DS is easily capable of better graphics than used here so I accuse the devs for being lazy. DBZ doesn't have great music outside the movies, but the soundtrack here includes 2 (I think) rock songs complete with vocals. The stages are more or less just wallpapers with a particular song allocated to them.
Now, the actual gameplay. Since the DS has more buttons than the GBA, blocking is no longer mapped to the same buttons used to attack. The 4 face buttons are for light attacks, heavy attacks, blocking and shooting ki. The R button still charges your ki. Your Ki gauge has been doubled to 200% so it takes more time to top off even though the charging speed is unchanged. The L button transforms you to your powered up form (another improvement! You can still start off as a powered up character if you want) or activates your character's special ability, if you have enough ki (usually 100 or 200%). You tag by tapping a teammate's potrait on the touch screen so you can now choose exactly who to tag to. It is still a maximum of 3 fighters per team. At the character selection screen, each character is allocated points ranging from 1 to 7 based on their brute strength. Your team's total points can't exceed 8 points at the start of the game. As you play the game more, you unlock more points until you can have a powerful team of 15 dragon points.

Episode 8: CES 2012

The annual CES (Consumer Electronics Show) started yesterday (January 10) and will continue till January 13th. All the coolest, soon-coming gadgets will be shown off. While I track the announcements through various websites, I will post my favorite findings here. Check back regularly because I will continue to update this post as I find more stuff, even after CES is over.
  • Project Fiona
This is a 10 inch tablet PC designed by Razer (a company growing from gaming accessory brand to full-fledged computer manufacturer) with gamers in mind. It runs windows 8 and will have its own integrated game launcher, besides being able to accept regular windows gaming services such as Steam. On both edges of the tablet is a cylinder-shaped thingy with four face buttons, a shoulder button and an analog stick.  The specs are high enough to run the latest HD games, we just don't know how expensive it will be and how many hours of juice the battery has yet.

  • Lenovo Idea Pad Yoga
This one's a windows 8 touch-screen laptop that transforms into a 13 inch tablet, or a 13 inch windows 8 tablet that transforms into a laptop. It's just 16.9mm thick and weighs just 3.1 pounds, making extremely portable. It's got a HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader. It priced at $1200, which is a lot to ask for a tablet, but a nice price for a 256GB laptop that transforms to a tablet. It has a webcam, mouse and keyboard like any good laptop should, but no CD tray. Who needs those nowadays anyway?

  •  Lenovo ThinkPad T430u ultrabook
You can read a short overview on what an ultrabook is below, but let's just say it's a really thin and light laptop (this one's 3.9 pounds) so I can jump right into talking about the T430u. It can take an i3, i5 or i7 processor, can have a hard drive of up to 1 Terrabyte, 1GB VRAM, and has HD graphics. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, a HDMI port, a minidisplay port, fingerprint reader, an ugly keyboard (unfortunately), 7 hours of battery life (integrated battery. You can't take it out or replace it yourself) and my favorite feature, a SIM card slot so one can connect to the internet through 3G!
What's more, it's only $900! Seriously, unless somebody does something with all this functionality and better aesthetics (this ultrabook's ugly), I will definitely be getting this.

What's An Ultrabook (Quoting IGN.com)
"Ultrabooks bridge the gap between netbook and notebook, providing a significant amount of processing power while maintaining a thin and light form factor. Ultrabooks utilize Intel's new Ivy Bridge processors, which offer pique performance but are extremely energy efficient, providing exceptional battery life. What's more, in order to qualify as an Ultrabook, the design must include a solid state drive and a unibody chassis the is less than 22mm thick and weigh less than roughly three pounds. Finally, all Ultrabooks must be cost-effective, priced within a reasonable range of $1,000.
The Ultrabook category is regulated and defined by Intel, which has established minimum requirements for 2012 and 2013. For example, in 2012, the company has mandated that in order to be considered an Ultrabook, a manufacturer must utilize USB 3.0 technology."

  •      Lenovo IdeaTV K91
This is a 55-inch IPS 3D HDTV powered by Google's latest mobile OS, and sports a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon APQ8060 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GBs of integrated storage, HDMI and USB 2.0 connectivity, an SD card slot, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and more. It supports voice control and facial recognition via an included 5 megapixel camera.
It comes with access to Lenovo's suite of cloud services as well as downloadable apps. No word on price yet but it's too bad there's no chance of getting this. We just bought a 55in LG 3D TV last month after all.

So any of these pique your interest? What do you think of the prices? Sound off in the comments section. By the way, a friend told me the comments aren't working. If you know me personally, try to comment and send me a facebook (or vgchartz) message to confirm to me that the comments section isn't working properly. Maybe I did some of my blog settings wrong.

Episode 7: Wii Kinect to our robot avatars!

This is the coolest thing I've seen all year! Some guy called Taylor Veltrop uploaded this video to youtube with this caption:
"This is the culmination of my last year's work. I control the robot's arms through the Kinect and Wii remotes. I control the robot's navigation through the Kinect and treadmill. I control the robot's head through the head mounted display (HMD). I also see through the robot's eyes with the HMD.

After doing this exercise, it became apparent that the next feature to add is hearing and speaking through the robot. Luckily both the NAO and my HMD have microphones and speakers so this shouldn't be too difficult.

This was the second try accomplishing brushing the cat. On the first try we discovered that the positioning of the brush in NAO's hand needed to be flipped 180 degrees from the intuitive direction."
       The video speaks for itself:

Episode 6: Boil Hotter, Get Sweeter

The first week of 2012 just went by. In case I didn't say so earlier on this blog (which I doubt), I'm Nigerian and I live in Nigeria. Also, I'm a born-again christian. With that said, on the cross-over night at my church, our pastor told us some things that God told him about Nigeria in 2012. The fifth point (out of five) said "Nigeria will boil hotter, but get sweeter". Cool!
Flash forward to later that same day (January 1st).  The president removed the subsidy on the price of fuel in the country, taking the price from N65 per litre to N140 per litre. A dollar is equivalent to 159.55 Naira (for my non-Nigerian readers). For Nigerians, this year has started on a really bad note. The cost of living just skyrocketed and most people have been criticizing the president (who, by the way, seems to be a puppet with no backbone or ego).
I was amazed by the sheer amount of fuel subsidy jokes on the internet just a day after the subsidy removal. Facebook, twitter and blackberry messenger were so inundated with text posts and images that by the 3rd of January, I had heard literally ALL the jokes. Every joke I saw after the 2nd was a joke I had seen/heard before. Stuff like "TGIF. . . . . , na to go pop petrol 4 club" and "The best pick up line in Nigeria is 'baby, check it out. I've got a full tank!'" amongst many others. I'll post a few pics below.

Just do a twitter search for fuel subsidy and see for yourself. Needless to say, there are protests and strikes opposing the subsidy removal. I'm not feeling the effects of the fuel subsidy removal yet (except in transport costs of course) but due to the strikes in protest to the fuel stuff, I won't be able to go to work for the next few days. I'll be working from home. The other 2 members of my 3 man programming team are staying at my place for a few days so we can write our first computer program as a team together.
Since I don't have to leave the house early for work now, I'll be at the estate's basketball court every morning till the strike is called off to hone my skills. I haven't balled since last semester (3 months ago!). Also, I will have a bit more time for gaming. I'm at the finale of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks on DS. I'll beat the game tomorrow and post a review. I'll even have time to practice a few songs on the keyboard. This strike actually isn't too bad for me.............hotter and sweeter huh?
